Gombe Schools Education Brand Philosophy

We believe that our schools provide;
 
A rich broad and balanced curriculum with result oriented quality assurance through rigorous checks and a balanced system
An atmosphere which involves all stakeholders in our educational development plans

We embrace different learning styles catering for individual differences, talent identification, motivation and development to create a person of marketable character

Focus Areas for the period 2017- 2019

During the period 2017-2019, the Following areas have been identified by Gombe Schools as priority to ensure that the vision is achieved.

•    School Culture:
 
This involves building a culture that will define Gombe Schools. This culture shall include; integrity, the fear of God, team work, as well as respect for self, others and property.

•    Stakeholder Engagement:

This will involve identifying mutually beneficial objectives that we seek to achieve with our stakeholders and actively involve them in the pursuit of these objectives.

•    Curriculum that Caters for Academic Excellence:

Gombe schools will develop and deliver a curriculum that ensures that learners are competent enough to contribute to development of society. It will involve having a broad based curriculum that involves academic and co-curricular activities delivered through internationally approved methodologies that make learning enjoyable for our children

•    Financial Soundness.

This will involve ensuring that Gombe schools has sufficient resources to meet its recurrent and development aspirations over the plan period.

•    Learning Environment.

Under this focus area, Gombe Schools will seek to create a learner friendly environment that supports development of the child holistically. It will involve development of the requisite infrastructure, availability of requisite equipment and learning materials among others.

•    Staff Development (Including Welfare)

Staff development will involve deliberate efforts to ensure the professional and financial development of staff who play a critical role in the success of Gombe Schools.

•    Operational Excellence looking at Systems Policies and Procedures.
 
This shall involve the development of a robust system that comprises relevant and appropriate policies, procedures and practices required to drive Gombe Schools towards achievement of its vision.

Goals

By 2019, the success attained by Gombe Schools shall be defined by the following goals that will have been achieved. i.e.
 
Goal 1:    A culture that promotes our core values.
Goal 2:     Stakeholder expectations met through engagement
Goal 3:     A broad and balanced continuously enriched curriculum.
Goal 4:     A self-sustainable financial base with proper accountability and management.
Goal 5:     A conducive and learner friendly environment.
Goal 6:     Policies that encourage and support financial and professional growth of staff.
Goal 7:     Adherence to well laid policies, procedures and a streamlined system

Strategic Objectives

In order to achieve the identified goals, the following objectives shall be pursued
 
Goal 1: A culture that promotes our core values.
 
Gombe Schools seeks to develop a school culture, by which they will be known. Through this culture, learners should demonstrate integrity, the fear of God, team work, have good morals, respect for self, others and property as well as strive for excellence among others. To achieve this, the following objectives shall be pursued;
Objectives:
1.    To plan and implement child centered activities that instil discipline, build confidence, smartness and self-reliant skills
2.    To ensure that there is a shared understanding of school values, norms, beliefs and rituals among all members of the school
3.    To inculcate the fear of God and social values among students and staff throughout the three years
4.    To Enhance team work and team building among stakeholders while conducting school activities

Goal 2: Engage stakeholders and seek to meet their desired expectations.
 
Gombe schools is building a wide network of stakeholders both locally and internationally to support it in during the implementation of the plan. Gombe schools further realizes that a strong network is built on attainment of mutually beneficial goals and objectives. To achieve this, we will seek the following;
Objective:
 
1.    To ensure that all stakeholders are involved in school activities

Goal 3: A broad and balanced continuously enriched curriculum.
 
Gombe schools will develop and deliver a curriculum that ensures that learners are competent enough to contribute to development of society. This curriculum shall include both academic and co-curricular activities and will be delivered through internationally approved methodologies that make learning enjoyable for our children. To achieve this, the following shall be pursued. i.e.
Objectives
 
1.    To develop a  well-planned curriculum that focuses on play way and practical methods of instruction following the competitive education standard in our nursery schools
2.    To enrich both academic and co-curricular programs to realize a holistic learner by 2019
3.    To Ensure effective planning, implementation and monitoring/review of the curriculum

Goal 4: A self-sustainable financial base with proper accountability and management.
 
Gombe Schools is a private establishment that seeks to be financially stable and ensure that the parents who entrust us with their children, get value for the money they invest in us. In doing this, we seek to promote accountability and ensure that the parents meet their financial obligations on time. To achieve this goal, we will undertake to do the following;
 
Objectives
1.    Collect sufficient revenue to meet our expenses through increasing enrolment
2.    Enhance Accountability and value of money
3.    Creation of more avenues of revenue generation

Goal 5: A conducive and learner friendly environment.
 
The learning environment plays a critical role in ensuring that a child enjoys their earning environment. Gombe schools seeks to establish learner centered learning environments that are safe, support the learning approach being implemented and have the required learning material and allow for a demonstrative approach to learning.This shall be achieved through the following;
 
Objectives
1.    Create a safe, clean and child friendly environment under the supervision of capable and trained staff
2.    To foster the learning and teaching process to promote excellence by 2019

Goal 6: Policies that encourage and support financial and professional growth of staff.
 
Staff are a central pillar in the success of the Gombe schools Education Brand. Their unwavering commitment towards the development of competent and responsible citizens cannot go unrewarded. Therefore as we seek to mold and grow our learners into responsible citizens, we will further seek to ensure that our staff also develop financially and professionally. To achieve this, we will do the following;
 
Objectives
1.    Promote staff professional Development
2.    Promote staff financial Development
3.    Build staff capacity in entrepreneurship skills

Goal 7: Adherence to well laid policies, procedures and a streamlined system
 
The activities of Gombe Schools shall be hinged on a robust system that comprises relevant and appropriate policies, procedures and practices. During the Plan period, Gombe Schools shall endeavor to have these policies in place and implement them consistently. Existence of a robust supervision and monitoring and evaluation framework shall be critical in the review and development of these policies. This shall be achieved through the following;
 
Objectives
1.    Ensure a clear understanding and implementation of existing policies
2.    Review and Develop Policies and Procedures
3.    To foster compliance, discipline, sanity and commitment among all stakeholders
