Kiswahili is one of the languages taught at St Andrew Kaggwa Gombe High School. It was formed by Arabs and Africans so it means it is our language (Africans). The National Curriculum Development council recommended it in schools because;
As East African Community, Uganda is a member and the common language used is Kiswahili. We are one family and we can’t coordinate without a common language.
It promotes love for ones country (patriotism) and that is why we have East African Anthem ( Wimbo Wa Afrika Mashariki) since we are one family.
It was mistaken to be a language of thieves and soldiers which is not true, this language is for Africans. We are in an open world where one needs to know different languages apart from English.
